#6: Women's Power, Always.
Happy Women's Day, ladies!
Paris Fashion Week is still running (and running strong ), but today is March 8th, which means it’s International Women’s Day!
And as PFW is not going anywhere, I thought it would be most important to spotlight 10 pieces that deserve your attention this week, as I do every week. However, as we’re celebrating Women’s Day today, it’s no surprise that the founders behind each of these pieces are women that L’Accent loves!
Discover below 10 pieces from female-founded brands that we’re putting the accent on this week!
1. Freja NYC
‘Thoughtful accessories for women and the many things we carry.’ This is Freja NYC’s motto, which defines the brand perfectly. Founded by Jenny Lei in 2020, it’s a brand for the modern woman who wants quality and style in her bags without compromising on price. Jenny is also on Substack (Jenny), and below is our current favorite pick from the brand
2. Laoli
‘Laoli intertwines the old, the new and the conscious, evoking beauty in the everyday.’ Founded by Olivia Ball in 2023, Laoli is a fine jewelry label that brings together meaningful materials and a pursuit of refinement through its pieces. L’Accent selected one of their top picks, and you can read more about Olivia on her Substack, Olivia Ball.
3. Ysso
YSSO is the London and Athens-based jewellery label from the creative mother-and-daughter duo Alexia and Stalo Karides, launched in 2019 , and is now taking over the West London scene. Their jewelry pieces are great for everyday wear, bold, chic and statement-making. Find Alexia on her Substack (Alexia Karides), and below is L’Accent’s favorite pick!
4. By Malene Birger
Founded in 2003 by Danish designer Malene Birger, the brand was relaunched in 2020 with a new visual identity and has since evolved into a womenswear house celebrating Scandinavian minimalism and elevated design. Below is L’Accent’s top pick.
5. Alfie
ALFIE was founded in 2020 by Alice Fresnel. The brand is inspired by 90s minimalism, where the lines between masculinity and femininity are delicately blurred. The brand is growing rapidly and redefining the codes of everyday luxury pieces we want to wear! Below is L’Accent’s top pick.
6. Destree
DESTREE is a Women's RTW and accessories brand created in 2016 in Paris by Géraldine Guyot and Laetitia Lumbroso. The brand offers structure, boldness and refinement through all of their pieces. Below is L’Accent’s top pick!
7. Sophie Buhai

8. Kiana Ghavidel
Founded in 2023, Kiana Ghavidel is a luxury footwear label producing sculptural, Italian-made heels designed for women who embrace individuality and want to wear bold designs. Here is L’Accent’s top pick below.
9. Nour Hammour
Founded by Nour Hammour and Erin Webb in 2013, Nour Hammour is a Parisian RTW house known for its luxury (and brilliant!) outerwear. The label designs pieces with elegance and longevity in mind, created to be worn, treasured, and passed down. Not only female-owned but also manufactured, it’s a brand L’Accent has followed very closely since its first creation and swears by.
10. Savette
Established in 2020 by Amy Zurek, Savette celebrates traditional leather craft in a new and modern form. The foundation of each handbag is a timeless, sophisticated silhouette, rendered in exceptional Italian leather. All bags are impeccably elevated, and below is L’Accent’s favorite pick.
I hope you love this edit as much as I loved curating it to spotlight the brand and the women behind it all. Thank God for women!
Until next week,
Céline, Avec Accent.
